On the Lookout: Tween Website for Fashionistas

I found this article on Trend Central today. Tween girls are now able to design their own clothing.

Check out the article below:

Est. Today is a new DIY design website and virtual world that allows ambitious, fashion-loving tween girls to create, showcase, and purchase clothing and accessories designed by each other, with just a few crafty clicks of the mouse. Conceived and managed by a husband-and-wife team that wanted to create an online fashion studio for their 12-year-old daughter and her friends, the website provides a safe, simple-to-use forum in which kids can "sketch" and create one-of-a-kind pieces that can both be stored in a virtual closet and put into production as real garments. The site, which also features a Ready-To-Wear collection of stylish, age appropriate basics, encourages users to create an avatar and become part of the Virtual Showroom, a multi-faceted online community where young fashionistas can mingle, check out friends' closets, and enter design contests. By tapping into tween girls' passion for fashion and creativity, as well as their longing for empowerment, we think Est. Today provides a natural progression for girls who've outgrown more juvenile virtual worlds like Club Penguin and Webkinz.
